I work with many young men who work in construction who display excessive and heavy drinking. After working very hard for eight hours, it seems to make a lot of sense to go to the local bar to have a few beers with the guys. Regularly, it may be pointed out, it appears that the well-intentioned few brews turns into a predicament in which a lot of shots and beers are consumed, several dollars are spent, and a lot of time is spent at the local tavern instead of spending time with their friends, wife or girlfriend, or with their family.
How rough can it be for my hard working pals to realize that excessive and heavy drinking normally results in marital, friendship, and relationship difficulties? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so hard for my hard working pals to see?
Does it actually astound anybody to realize that my hard working pals eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as sleep disturbances, alcohol poisoning, hangovers, and a loss of energy? Is it really shocking that many of my hard working pals are beginning to have a variety of mental health problems like depression? Why can't these hard working men "see" these alcohol abuse and alcoholism signs?
Regarding the drinking behavior manifested by my hard working pals, the major point of emphasis is that honesty is necessary. Indeed, these hard working men, not that much different than others who involve themselves excessive and heavy drinking, need to look within themselves and make a factual assessment of what abusive and heavy drinking is doing to their health, to their jobs, to their relationships, to their mental health, and to their finances. In a word, these hard working men need to understand the signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse manifested by their excessive and heavy drinking.
These hard working men need to get enthused and motivated about wanting to make a positive change in their lives. More to the point, my hard working pals need to get motivated to go to their healthcare professional or to the local drug and alcohol counseling center and discover whether or not they are mainly abusing alcohol or if they are alcohol addicted. Based on the information that is uncovered, these construction workers then need to get the alcohol rehabilitation and the alcohol detox treatment they need.
The fortunate news is that there's a vast number of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, rehab programs, and treatment centers where my hard working pals can get top-shelf rehab for their abusive and excessive drinking.
