DD Hammocks also claim that camping near a stream or lake can be up to 4 degrees Celsius cooler than the surrounding places because normally the air is cooled as it blows over the water.
From an environmental point of view, these types of camping hammocks are fine because they don't disturb the ground cover vegetation and they are simple to set up and take down.
They are also perfect for backpackers who do not desire the additional weight and space allocation that a conventional tent requires, but do want something that is comfortable, safe and strong to sleep in overnight.
